Problems you already know
Where a wrong travel fact lands on you.
Each one is real and public. Here's what CitedTravel does about it today, and where it stops.
Confidently wrong
AI makes up local details
A model answers with total confidence and no source.
Today: sourced values with the date checked and a confidence level, for the basics travelers act on.
"Visa-free", but…
A form nobody mentioned
A visa-free trip can still need a digital arrival card or an electronic travel authorisation before arrival.
Today: the entry pilot lists formalities like these, quoted from the official source, for GB, US and JP passports.
Duty to inform
Notices that come too late
ECC Austria: "Entry requirements may change at short notice; package travellers must be informed of this by tour operators, but individual travellers by transport companies do not have to be informed."
Today: free sourced country pages to share, and a changes feed showing what moved in our data. You send the notice.
Events
Registrants refused a visa

Two public cases
One person, one app, one made-up station.
Two public stories. Neither business is connected to us.
Solo developer · July 2024
A developer building an AI city-guide app between client work wrote on a developer forum that, before the prompts were nailed down, the AI was "making up train stations in Oaxaca". A handful of cities had been checked by hand; the rest were AI-generated.
Source: the developer's own comment, 17 Jul 2024. Not affiliated with us and not a customer.CitedTravel doesn't cover train stations. It covers the basics travelers act on: plugs, money, emergency numbers, driving side, national holidays and tipping, each with its source.
Tour operator · reported March 2025
The European Consumer Centre Austria reports a package holiday where the need for a Canada eTA, for a transit stop on the return flight, appeared only in the booking confirmation. The ECC said the information should have been given before the contract. The travellers missed boarding and paid for replacement flights. In an out-of-court settlement, the tour operator agreed to pay half of the flight costs, about €1,000.
Source: ECC Austria, "Problems with visas or ETAs – who is liable?", 18 Mar 2025. Operator not named; not affiliated with us and not a customer. The same made-up detail at an airline or a big trip platform reaches every customer at once. In 2024 a Canadian small claims tribunal held an airline responsible for what its website chatbot told a customer. Source: official decision, 14 Feb 2024. One small claims decision, about the airline's own fare policy.
