About CitedTravel

CitedTravel is a cited travel-facts API and MCP server used by developers and AI agents.

What CitedTravel does

CitedTravel publishes plugs and voltage, currency, emergency numbers, driving side, public holidays, tipping and a visa/entry pilot for 195 countries. Every value comes with its source, license, verbatim quote or source value, last-verified date and a confidence score, so an agent can show its work.

• Available as a REST API, a remote MCP server and one page per country, in English, Japanese and Chinese.
• Facts come only from public sources whose licenses allow commercial reuse, such as Wikidata (CC0), Unicode CLDR, python-holidays (MIT) and government travel advice. Share-alike datasets are used only for cross-checks (licensing).
• Confidence scores are deterministic: they start from the kind of primary source and go up or down with independent cross-checks, ambiguity, staleness and expired time-limited rules. The reasons are listed with every fact.
• Entry answers are decision support, not a go/no-go verdict: they quote official government pages, link to them and always carry an advisory.
• Sponsors never influence data, answers or rankings (editorial independence policy).
